    How Should I Charge?

I have a current dcf with a very dynamic situation. I have dcb 11mo full time from 640am to 345pm monday through friday. They have shared custody of dcd's son from a previous relationship, dcb4, who was coming on a 2 days/week and a 3 day/week rotating schedule from the hours of 1pm-345pm. Dcd is now switching shifts at work (dcb4 was staying home with him in the morning until he had to go to work..whole other story) so now dcb will be having to come all day rather than just a few hours in the afternoon. I was charging them $10/day for the few hours that dcb4 was here plus the ft rate of $130 for dcb 11mo. Well, today they had a mediation with dcb4's biological mother who has shared custody and her attorney and they have arranged a different arrangement in which dcb4 will be here all week and then with his biological mother the next week.

My question is, how should I go about charging dcf? I charge by the spot so I already know that I can't and won't let the 'off' week to be free of charge. I do offer a sibling discount of 15% off the total, so for the 'on' week it would be $221/week. I was contemplating half of his rate for the 'off' week and not include the discount for the off week. Is this reasonable at all? I don't want to make the price too steep because she is somewhat on the fence about staying home to do daycare herself and I can't afford to lose the income. At the same time, I don't want to charge too little and start to resent them kwim?

Any helpful thoughts or suggestions on how I should go about this would be great!

I have a fmaily with a similiar situation. What I chrge is 3/4 of my fulltime 5 days a week rate. The contract is written in a manner that allows the

children to attend 5 days in any 2 week period. Each additional day is an additional cost the additional cost makes it so that day I am getting paid my

between the contracted daily rate and the drop in rate.

So this my 5 days a week school days rate is $100 a child. Therefore this fmaily pays $150 (all together for both children, due reguardless to

attendance) each week, then for each day above 5 in any two week perid they pay an extra $15 per child, my dropen daily rate is $30 for school days.

This way I get paid the same each week and get paid a little to hold the spot that I can not fill, and parents get a break on the days they are not responsible for day care.
