OMG WTH!! Diarrhea, Illness and Terming Oh My!

So I posted earlier about dcb being constantly sick, blah blah blah, and that I wanted to term but I changed my mind and was going to try to work things out.

Well DCP's come 15 minutes later than usual, and of course, 5 mintues before they get here he has a HUGE blowout diharrea all over the place. Clearly, he is SUPER sick, and it isn't just a cold. I had to answer the door with him half dressed today, and get a new diaper on with the parents in the hallway waiting.

I told him if he has another episode or seems sick at all tonight they need to keep him home tomorrow so the other kids dont get sick. I was very careful about keeping them all separate today so they shouldn't have been exposed, and I have been lysol-ing since he left.

The prob is that I am sure he wont have another diaharrea tonight bc he didnt eat at all today, so they will probably bring him, and I am going to have to go through what Breezy went through last week I am afraid.

This is the third bout of serious diaharrea in 4 months. I do not do sickness well at all.

what color is it, I have kids who drink ALOT of milk and they have blow outs like crazy, then I get mad and tell their parents they need to quit feeding them so much milk. Milk is a replace for food for some of these kids. Also, I'm wondering if he has a allergy to milk. Google up milk allergies cold symptoms, had a kid like this, and it turned out he had a milk allergy.

How long is the diarrhea lasting.....how many days in a row?

I would exclude until they take him to a doctor and have a written diagnosis. It could be allergy, it could be rotavirus. I wouldn't take any chances.

I think you should just term, especially if you have a waiting list or an easier time filling spots. His immune system is just really fragile for some reason and cleaning up all that poo and constant mess is really unsanitary.

          It was yellow.

So I ended up telling the parents not to bring him the next day (Tuesday). Early Wednesday morning, at 4am, my dd was up screaming- she got what he had. rrrrrrr!

I called the other DCP's and told them her symptoms, and that she and 1 other baby were ill. They all decided to keep their kiddos home. (Better to spend the day with a healthy child then to havbe to keep them home because they got sick).

I sanitized my house from top to bottom. DD is okay today, and they brought the original sick boy today too, and told me that he was fine all day yesterday. I really hope they are telling the truth. If he has any other episodes today I am sending him home.

I'm putting them both on the BRAT diet today, as recommended by my ped. (Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, and Toast), and limiting any dairy at all. I gave my dd an extra dose of probiotic powder in her drink this am too, so hopefully all will go well today.
