What Do You Think Of This T Shirt Idea?

Right now I have field trip hats with goofy animals on them, which make it easy to pick out my kids in a crowd. I kind of want to make shirts but not with my daycare's name. I'd like to go the Dr. Seuss Route and put "Thing 1", "Thing 2" "Thing 3"....etc. Maybe with a Dr. Seuss pictures? Do you think people wouldn't get it and would think I'm demeaning the kids? I just think it'd be cute. ::

I think it would be cute. Especially with all the Dr. Seuss publicity going on right now with the new Lorax movie out.

I think its super cute. If you're worried about it, you could label them "Friend 1, Friend 2, etc" instead of thing.
You can get tshirts really cheap at Micheals if you hit a sale.
Several providers in the area use same colored tshirts when they are out, usually bright colors like green or orange, and its so easy to spot the kids together in a group.

Universal Studios sells them (of course for about $25-30 each). My friend got them for all 4 of her kids - Thing 1 thru Thing 4 and her shirt says "mother of all things". That one wouldn't work for us DCP's but I thought it was adorable!!

I see kids all the time with numbers instead of names. It's part of Megan Law NOT to use a childs name any where in site. First or last name. I see large schools doing it..

I don't have numbers on my kids, I just have shirts with the DC name on them and the phone number. The number on the shirts is my cell #.

Friends 1, 2, 3... is a better idea for 2 reasons. 1 being not every adult or child for that matter knows what thing 1 and 2 are. We did Dr Seuss week last week and made thing 1 and 2 paintings. DCM didn't know what it was so I explained and she looked at me like I was speaking greek! I showed her the book. She said "I kinda remember that book when I was a kid but don't recall the being things in them" No wonder her poor kids don't understand anything going on here... But back to the point reason # 2 is copyright etc. Although I doubt you would get in trouble I heard of a guy selling rock shirts with a band on them and he was threatened leagl action. Just a thought. Love the idea though!!

I think the friend 1 friend 2 idea is a better one for the same reasons posted. When we go out I have bright yellow t shirts with my name and number on the back in big block letter. When I finally needed to replace them with new I stuck with the same yellow shirts and tie died them. They turned out ok but I like the plain yellow better I think. Yellow is supposed to be a happy color so I like the way the kids look in them. Im thinking of adding yellow caps/visors for summer (if I can find them). Maybe Michaels again. Anything that make sit easier to pick your dc kids out!
