I couldn't agree more! My DD has a milk allergy and had all of those symptoms. We gave it all up at 6 months and now she's rarely sick. Even if she does get a cold it's very mild and is over within a day or two. I am not a big fan of dairy and I think it creates a lot of issues for many children.

After hearing everyone's advice, I think it's definitely worth bringing up to the parents. I too am not a big milk fan. My kids are on coconut and almond milk- but I'm kind of a health freak . The lobbyists in the milk industry really push the "health benefits" of cow's milk, but I'm a little skeptical.

Does soy milk cause the same allergies? My sickly one is allergic to cow's milk and has been on soy. Does she even need any type of milk at 18 months? Seems like I remember someone here talking about that.

I was doing soymilk for my oldest until I read about the phytoestrogens in soy causing early puberty in girls, and having an effect on boys too. I tried soy on my littlest before I read about that too, and it upset her stomach so I did not give it to her frequently. Soy allergies can be common though. I am not sure if they cause common cold symptoms- I am only aware of the issues that is causes to the stomach/bowels.

When I asked my doc. she said that the average person has a realy hard time getting enougph calcium with out milk or a pill. Yes, calcium is in other things

but unless you consume you calcium with vitiam D then your body does not take all of it in.

That makes sense. I'm hoping she will outgrow the milk allergy. My sister outgrew it, and DCG has already outgrown her egg allergy.
