    Toy Ideas Needed...

I need some toy ideas for my 9 month old in her baby zone. The next oldest kid is 18 months and the rest of them are into pretend play and things that the baby can't do (like puzzle pieces and such). Need ideas for non electronic, no battery, no "button pushing" toy ideas for her little corner. I'd love to see pics if you have an area for just the baby.

I just added a couple of plastic pails and containers to my infant-toddler room and they LOVE them! They put Little People in and then dump them out and then fill them up and dump them out.....etc etc etc.

I also have a bunch of soft balls. Some are textured and others are squishy. Other favorites my infant-toddlers love are big lego-like blocks, chunky toddler cars (like Hot Wheels, but toddler like) and they also like the baby dolls too.

I made several discovery bottles recently. I took some small plastic bottles and put various items in them: marbles, coloured paper clips, dice, sequins, foam letters, pony beads, pieces of drinking straws, pompoms, etc. I added water, rice, hair gel and baby oil to them then glued the lids on the bottle with hot glue. The babies love them but so do the big kids!
Doing what I love and loving what I do.

The favorites in my baby area right now are a stack of plastic cups (about 20 of them) and a wipes container filled with fabric strips and squares. They also love the soft crinkly books, balls, the shape sorter and a couple of small containers they can fill up.

Oh yah! My babies love sensory bottles too. I have one with little gems and glitter and another with shapes.

My 9 month old isn't into toys right now because he's trying to learn to walk (Yep...was taking steps last week 3-4 at a time and turned 9 months yesterday)! BUT on those rare occasions he does want a "toy", he enjoys things that make noise (jingly bells, crinkly things, etc). He enjoys pounding on the Little Tykes plastic drum we have, and enjoys slamming toys into other objects to make nice noises. He loves crawling around chasing a ball. He juuuust learned the joy of knocking over someone else's tower of blocks, and likes those little letter blocks that are cubes.
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

I have them put up right now so I can't take pics but I love my sensory boards for the little ones. I cut squares of plywood. About 6inchx 6 inch and covered them with different types of fabrics. Flannel, quilt batting, fur, fleece, etc. Then I got the overnight type hair rollers, that are really prickly. They absolutley love sticking them to the different fabrics. They like sticking the curlers on their clothes too. I like them because they can be soaked in bleach solution if they get mouthed. They are prickly though so most of my kids dont like them in their mouths.

Also with the rollers I got some old cans with the plastic lids and cut a circle the same size as the curlers. The little ones love learning how to put the roller in the whole. I got the pack of curlers that has different sizes so I had 3 cans. Each can with a different size hole that fits each size curler.
