    State Regulations in Handbooks

Do any of you copy and paste the state regulations into your Handbooks? I'm so wondering if this would cut down on the problems we have with parents breaking our policies?

I'm thinking I may do this on my next revision so they know the state will be standing behind me on any discission I make.

My State provides them (for me to print ) and I am required to give each parent a copy OR have them posted.

I give them with the enrollment package so I don't have to maintain them.

Yes, it is worth it since it almost instantly put's them on "your side". They see what you are up against and try to help, IME.
    - Unless otherwise stated, all my posts are personal opinion and worth what you paid for them.

I try to copy the sentences or refer to the sections of our state policies when I print out things for my parents but there is no way I could include them in my handbook as our state regs/rules are upwards of 75 or more pages.

Instead I write things out like this; "Per licensing regulations (Section 204.5 Subsections 2-4) infants must be placed on their backs when sleeping or napping" etc etc.

If a parent wants a copy of our complete regulations and rules, I will give them the web address.

Wow Blackcat-! Ours is only 14 but front and backside so the whole thing is only 7 pages.

Ours are also many many pages....well over 100. I have cut and pasted in previous handbooks (when I worked in a center), but I didn't do that in my home daycare handbook. Not a bad idea though. Maybe just on things like illness policy, infant sleep policy, and the very important things. If ours was less than 10 pages I would give everyone a copy but there's no way I can afford to print enough copies for every parent.

Our regs FILL a 2 inch binder! I quote a few in my handbook and contract. I also give parents a link to where they can read them online if they wish.
