So I have a one week vacation planned in 3 weeks. I notified all my parents the first week of January of the dates.
So last week I have a DCM ask me what I had planned for vacation and if I was taking my School Agers out of school for the week. I responded no they are going to school, I found a sitter for my 16 mos DD, my hubby is off and we are having a "staycation." She said oh. I said besides a couple of doctors appointments we are going to make time for us as a couple. Besides that we are going room to room and spring cleaning.
Since then, every day at pick up/drop off she makes some comment about my "staycation" and it always so passive aggressive. I get that she is probably a little jealous. (She has a husband but he isn't totally there for her and she does most of the parenting) She's never out and out rude but I am so sick of the comments! She is acting pretty put out that I am causing her an inconvenience. She also keeps trying to ask me when my 2nd week is going to happen. I keep saying I dont know yet, but she will have notice as per contract. (1 month)
Here are some of her comments
"I sure wish we could coordinate vacations at the same time, it would make my life so much easier"
"so you have nooo idea what week you are going to take the second week of vaca? are you actually gonna go somewhere this time?"
"we really want to take little J_____ to disneyworld for our vacation this year. I just dont think that it will work unless it is the same time as yours. Do you want the dates we can go and maybe you can work it out?"
"I really hope my back up works out for vacation this week, it took me along time to find someone I trusted, besides you of course"
"I hope little J_____ adjusts okay to the changes while your gone, you know how she likes her set routine"
" I hope I dont get fired since while your on vacation I can't drop her off at the backup DC until 6:00 instead of 5:45"
"I am just so stressed about this vacation your taking and how my DD will do. I am going to be sitting at work biting my nails, while you get to sleep in and get organized":

"I wish I would have known sooner you were taking the week of in March so I could have taken it off too, unstead of causing all these issues for me. Another guy is taking the same week as you, but he submitted his request a week before you notified us"
Most of the comments make me laugh and I haven't paid much mind to them. If I was rude back or stern she would have blown it way our of proportion. It hasn't made me feel guilty in the least, but its getting so over the top now. She's starting to "poke the bear".
My deviant, sarcastic side will show itself if she isn't careful!
