Oooooh. It would be SO cute if it were painted a soft yellow. Adorable.

A home like that in my area would be about $170,000.00. I can't believe that house is only $39,900!!! I think I may have to move.

Very cute! I wish in Texas we could have a home daycare outside of our own house but we cant. IF we could I would hope to find something cute like this.

Awww, this reminds me of my first house, which is on the market for $20,000 less than what I paid for it in '99. I love old homes, such character.

          $39,900????

I realize it's small and only 2br 1ba, but it would still be about $150,000 here.

I agree. Here in California if that was in Santa Monica it would be about $600k

I just looked and there is not one house within 100 miles of me that's anywhere near $39,900.

What are the going rates for childcare in your area? Maybe I should consider moving ::.

Hey! That is my daycare! Just kidding, but it is VERY similar. (I will try to find a picture to post of my house)

I only paid $29,500 for my house. Mine has 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, with a basement, fenced in corner lot (well actually two city lots) and a garage.

Of course I purchased this house in 1992 and I am sure the prices are a lot different now than back then but.....

My DH did some work for a guy who does some production/directing work for TV (Road Rules, Secret Millionaire, and Real World) who lives in Santa Monica but was born up here and has a family cabin here too...he told DH and I about how much space he has in his house (I think 600sq ft) and how that would be close to $600,000-$900,000 where he lives. I was floored!

I am amazed at how house prices can fluctuate between different areas of the country. My Dh and I own 40 acres of heavily wooded property within 7 miles of town. We paid $15,000 for it. I have friends who live in Colorado. They said land prices for similar property there would be $15,000 per acre there!

I'm not sure where your friend lives but we have tons of people that move here from another state because they can literally buy 3 houses here for what they sold theirs for in the other state. An average 1500 square foot house would be 500,000 and up!!!!!

We had a friend of ours 10 years ago build a house that if you used every room for a bedroom it would have been like 6 or 7 bedrooms. They built it for $200,000 and we just couldn't believe they would pay that much for a house! We are now kicking ourselves and wishing we had done the same thing. Their house payment probably wasn't much more than ours is.

roughly here, that house would but under 60 000, but 39 000 is very reasonable.

I think that house here would be 70 to 90 thousand depending on the condition

                        $110 per week ish...

The ad says it's listed $20k below assesment. The market here is pretty yucky right now.

My dh hates the daycare in the house, but also doesn't think buying a house 7 miles away makes sense. I think he also learned after seeing the accountant this year that what I said was true-having a dc in your home means you get to write-off a lot of stuff, at least partially....

I am from Laguna/Irvine/Long Beach and the prices there are horrific. My grandmother's 1,000 square foot home by the beach sold for over $800,000.00
                          a few years back. CRAZY!!!

I'll have to remember this...I dream of getting daycare out of my home. I love my job but sometimes hate the mix of home and work. Getting to do daycare out of my house won't be a possibility though until my DS age 1 is in Kindergarten.
