    Nervous About Tomorrow

I am a registered user but logged out on the off chance that my dcp's would see it and figure out it is me .

I am taking a job at a new daycare center that will be opening at my church in a little over a month. I am really excited about this job but I am also sad that I will no longer be able to watch the sweet kids I have right now. I am giving the parents my notice tomorrow morning at drop off. I am giving them 4 weeks notice and the name of someone who can watch the kids temporarily after that if needed. I am kind of nervous about telling them. I would appreciate prayers that I can sleep tonight and have the right words tomorrow. And also that the parents would not be upset with me...I know that is kind of silly but I am most nervous that they will hate me .

I love my dck's and parents but I always had this feeling that I would work at my church someday..I thought it would be in the office or something... Then a young woman at our church proposed that we open a Christian daycare/learning center. The church liked her business plan so work began. I did not plan to work there but, the closer it got to the deadline for aps being subbmitted, the more signs I got that I am suposed to work at this center. Then, the week before aps were due, I had a disagreement with a dcm. It was really unexpected and we parted ways. I had ignored verbal confirmations from the people around me and brushed them off. But this final thing kicked me in the butt to apply. I was offered a fulltime job with health insurannce..passed on that since dh has ins through work. I have done home daycare since dd was small. She will be in middle school in a couple years. It is time for me to get the daycare out of my house. I love the kids but i have come to hate the wear and tear on my house, will also be happy to get rid of the toys. Being able to leave work at work will e great. But the best part for me is that the daycare will be Christ centered. I probably would have gone on forever in my home if this job had ot ome up.. I just got the feelig that this is where God want me to go next .

I think you are doing the right thing for you. Anyone who doesn't understand or support that isn't worth worrying about.

I would just be honest with the parents and just tell them your love for children hasn't changed but your need to not be in your home while caring for them has.

I am sure they will completely understand. You are giving plenty of notice and even providing a name of soemone who can help them out until they find another permanent care solution.

Good luck with your new adventure.....sounds like you are more than ready!

It is safe to be myself again....::

Thanks, Blackcat (and all who wished me luck) . I told everyone this morning. They were all very understanding. Only one looked a little taken aback but I think she was probably just thinking about what she is going to do now. I really love these kids I have now and their families are the most awesome I have ever had so tellng them I am no longer doing this was hard. Didn't sleep well last night.

But, I am ready to work outside my house and remove all the little kid stuff from my home. I am also ready to take the car seats out of my van and reduce the wear and tear on my home. And not have poopy diapers in my house...yeah!!!!! I am more than ready for all that. happyface I am going to be soooooo sad though when I say goodbye to the kids.

I know I am doing what is best for me and my family though. Everything I disliked about this job had to do with doing it in my home. I am looking forward to doing this job outside my home. I get to love the kids and work with them without the effect on my house! And I may even see a couple grown ups during the day now and then.
