Also, I found a regular family doctor right by my house that has evening and Saturday hours.

    Mobile groomer.
Teacher's kids are the best... Mine are all teacher's kids except one. All my kids are gone by 3:45. I love it. I schedule my dr appts and just notify parents way ahead of time... I found a dentist that can see me after 5pm or weekends.

I know what you mean though.. there are those unexpected things that happen like with picking up your daughter last minute that can be frustrating. I put all my kids in my wagon & walk to get my kids when I need to. I don't have an assistant or any help with things like that. I just don't trust anyone I don't know to actually hire and allow in my home. Not being able to run out is hard though. I hear ya!

I do everything in my power and control....then I forgive myself the rest.

I have a sub. I try to do things I absolutely must first thing in the morning. I let the parents know a day in advance and usually they don't even show up unless they really need to (my group tends to come late anyway). I open at 7:00 and I try to be back by 9:30. Most things I send dh to do, but he can't go take a blood test for me (wish I could figure that out, I hate having blood taken!)

That is me too. I also have learned to groom my own dog. As for Dr/Dentist appts, I have a teenage daughter with a drivers license, and have signed a parental release form for her to bring her two siblings to the dr/dentist if I am unable.
Give a little love to a child, and you get a great deal back.

I missed some of my youngest daughters events because of daycare and I really regret it. At the time I was just starting and thought that I should be there for my dcks. Through the years I have come to realize that my family is first always. Could any of your daughters friends parents give her a ride home if needed?

Now I have grandchildren that play sports and have school events that I don't miss.I have a sub that I tell everyone about when they sign up and I try to give a couple days notice before I use her. I don't transport very often but if I have to I will. I let them all know that. I think putting family first makes this job easier on me.
