What Is She Insinuating?! Just Ask Already!

So DCM of one of my 2 yr old boys tells me last week, that the DCB was talking about me all night. He barely talks at all yet, but babbles a lot. She said "He just kept saying 'K- cart, K- cart'"... I said I don't know what he's talking about. I don't have any kind of cart here or what that means. Then the next day she tells me the same thing again like she forgot she already told me the same thing the day before.

I think he's saying "car" but I never have taken him in my car. And I think she is thinking I took him to the store & put him in a cart maybe and she's afraid to just come out and ask.

This morning she says it again! When she said it again today, I got kind of irritated because I feel like she is too scared to just come out and ask if I took him to the store or something... I said "I don't know what he's saying, but I've never taken him in my car or a store or put in a cart... I would ask you first if I ever need to do that - and I never have". She said "oh no I didn't think you did, I just think its interesting he says that all the time". Yeah right.

She did this a couple weeks ago too when she told me "He kept saying K--- cookie, K--- cookie all weekend". YES lady - I gave your kid a freakin cookie and he liked it! I told her that we had a cookie last week probably. She says "Ohhhh thats why.." DUH! Ugh. Drives me crazy.

I can't stand how she insinuates things and just won't ask. Do you guys have parents like this too? :confused:

Move: I have a small house and they always crowd around my feet when I'm trying to walk.

This made me Laugh. Out. Loud.

I have a child that only eats chicken nuggets which I serve about once every two or three weeks. Everyday at lunch she asks what we are having for lunch, and so I don't feed into her chicken nugget neurosis, I just say "it's a surprise" or something to that affect.

So her mom sends me a text the other day and tells me that her daughter is convinced she ate octopus for lunch today. What??

And the harder I thought about it, I did recall it being a hectic pre-lunch time with lots of demands and wants and needs. So I typically say "I'm not an octopus" which likely occured at the exact moment her daughter asked about lunch.

We had a good laugh, but I have to wonder why she didn't just ask what we had for lunch instead of assuming I fed her child octopus.

Yup, you guessed it. I had a mom call and ask if I was saying it to her daughter cause she went home and tattled on me. LOL

YES!! I have had her 8 yr old son since he was 9 months old. Ever since he's gone to school, she tells him at drop-off, "Don't forget to eat breakfast." And being as 8 yr old boys are, he doesn't respond or even look at her, so she REPEATS IT!! As if HE has any control over getting his breakfast at my house!!

She directs it to him, but you KNOW she's saying it for MY benefit. She doesn't want ME to "forget" to give him breakfast. Like I would!!! I do offer breakfast, but her two (3 yr old sister) are the only ones that don't eat it at home before they come. She knows this, and I think she thinks I'm just going to blow it off since it's just them.

So last Thursday at breakfast time, I said to him, "here's your breakfast that your mom thinks I'm going to forget." He smiled up at me. I probably shouldn't have said anything, but it has driven me NUTS for YEARS. So.. oops.. the next morning when she said her usual, "don't forget to eat breakfast", he goes, "why do you always say that? Joyce wouldn't forget to feed me!!" I laughed inside, and cringed, all at the same time. She just stammered and said (and this makes NO sense whatsoever) "Well, I forget, so I don't want YOU to." ..... Huh???
