new dc baby is really fussy :(

DCM said he's only fussy when he has gas and needs to burp. I've tried burping him and got a couple out. Then he wants to eat more, but seems like he's getting more air from around the bottle nipple than he is drinking. I've tried elevating him a bit but that doesn't seem to help. What else can I do to help him?

    I haven't had a newborn in a long time...except for my own.

      How old is he?
      How much does he drink?
Also, what type of bottles does he drink from?

I have a 3 month old who uses the Dr. Browns and I don't much like them bc there are a lot of bubbles in them and although he isn't colicky..if he isn't feeling well then those bubbles really play havoc on his system. I really like the Advent bottles as there are hardly any bubbles in those and seem to work well with babies that have a sensitive stomach or colicky.

Also, Zoe is right...thoughs gas drops are a miracle worker...they saved my sanity with my daughter. !!

He's 6 weeks old and using Similac bottles. I finally got him to drink 4 oz and he's sleeping peacefully. I'm going to mention the gas drops to mom when she picks him up today. Poor baby was miserable for a while!
