    I'm sorry!

I just wanted to apologize to Crystal (and Ariana) for kind of going off on the Alfie Kohn article.

I realized after thinking about it that I went to a training years ago on this same subject. After that, I changed my language considerably with both my dc kids and my own children.

I hyper-focused on one portion of the article because I am quite frankly extremely frustrated with a large portion of my dc group, and I feel like I have so few tools! It SHOULD not be this hard to manage 5 children! I've always had the occasional "troubled" child, but 4 of 5? arggd!

My goodness you didn't go off on me in the least!! Did you see my other post? I got reamed for my green booger policy ::

I completely understand your frustration and doing things the way Alfie Kohn suggests is not easy and I mess up constantly, but like some of the others said in that thread you begin to see changes after a while. It's slow! My DCG has completely stopped looking for my praise for every little thing and the look of pure joy in her eyes when she feels proud of herself is worth the struggle. I also only have a handful of kids so I'm not dealing with what you're dealing with.

    Hang in there

It is always great to see different perspectives and yet still see everyone "in it together"
