LLC questions

I'm in a state that doesn't require insurance for the daycare. I have a friend that is starting up her own daycare nearby and is looking into getting an LLC.

Who has an LLC?
Was it hard to get?
How much did it cost?
What are the benefits?

I looked into insurance for the daycare and I just couldn't afford it...almost $600/month so I do feel I should have some sort of protection but just don't know the first thing about an LLC.

Any info would be very helpful.

I have a LLC

It is super easy- you just pay the fee and fill out the paperwork, you can google "create a LLc in ___ (insert your state), and you send the $$ in with the paperwork. That's it. You will get tax paperwork in the mail afterwards.
