Ok, my daycare families must all be a very unique bunch......since first reading this thread, I have tried to think back to the last time a parent called me after hours or on weekends and I cannot think of one single time it has happened in who knows how long.

As a matter of fact, I think there are only about one or two daycare families who actually know my home phone number.

All my parents give me a schedule on Friday by 5 P.M. or earlier and stick to it. No one changes or amends their schedules. Every once in a while a parent will call my daycare phone (in the morning before I open) and leave a message about their child being kept home that day. But it is usually in the hour right before I open and not the middle of the night.

I also do NOT text or e-mail with any of my dc parents. 99.9% of the communication between myslef and the daycare families is done face to face.

I also wonder if I don't get alot of changes and revisions because I bill weekly and absences make no difference in their rates..... I don't know, but I am super grateful I don't have parents that call at all hours.....

I would tell her that her late night texts wake you up and to e-mail you her schedule from now on.

Often, we don't even put his phone number or any info about him on the school records. So I want a phone that I can leave on so I can hear it mainly - actually only - because if anything happens to my daughter in college or if my younger daughter is spending the night at a friends, if they need to get ahold of me, they can.

So, yeah, even though it is a pain that I am going to be spending another almost $100/month to have another cell phone, I think by having a personal phone that my clients do not have the number to and a business phone that I can turn off after business hours will work for me in this situation.
I would change your contract immediately to say that any changes in schedule will only be accepted 24 hours in advance. The parents know that soon, they just forget to tell you. All my parents know that if they don't inform me, I won't accomodate last minute changes.
