Not Sure How To Approach Nap Time

So my new baby started half day afternoons two days ago. She will be full days next week. Very sweet little girl.
Mom says she gets ready for bed around 7:30, goes to sleep just fine. Gets up around 5am, and doesn't really nap I had her take a 1 hr nap, and yesterday was about 45 mins. (one of the other kids coughed and woke her up) As soon as she goes into the nap room she loses it! Screaming and clinging.
Mom said she never really napped since she was born.
I know of several different ways I can try to get her to sleep, but I don't want to be flip flopping from one way, then trying something different if that doesn't work.
I know she needs to sleep, that's way too long of a day for an 11 mth old not to be sleeping.
What should I try to do to help her sleep. I don't think she knows how to self soothe at all. And she does not have a pacifier.

I'll give you advice what I got last week.

Put her back to bed she gets to your house. And give her two naps. I have just like you have, a clingy screamer. But this went on for 6 months, and I had new babies started. Well, I put her down at 8am (she gets to my house at 730am) she sleeps for and hour and then I put her down at 1pm and she naps for 2 to 2.5 hours and she is happy and not clingy anymore. Oh and don't worry if she screams when you put her to bed, it does take a bit for them to get use to it. But don't worry they don't scream forever.

I figured I'd try two naps, and with the other babies I've had they eventually adjust, but I've never had a baby come to me that never napped. I am a firm believer in CIO and it has always worked. But this ones going to give me a hard time ! What if all she does is cry? How long should i let her cry before I give in?_

What time does she arrive at your house and what time does she leave?

Once you decide on the nap schedule. stick to it. if she cried the whole nap time at first, leave her for the whole nap (assuming she is safe, clean, etc). in reality, its going to take A LOT of crying to get her napping and break her bad habits. I would give it at least two full weeks of very, very consistent schedule and you should see major progress....but be prepared for screaming up the whazoo.

I leave kids on two naps until at least 18 months and they are only here for 9 hours a day.

        how old is she?
