    Bed Rest!

I have been placed on bed rest due to a big bleeding episode and an abrupt ion on my placenta
So right now my DH and assistant will be running the show!
I am going stir crazy and am so bored. I know I need to step back and hand over the reins but things just aren't getting done how I like.

    Sorry for the vent

      Godiva, I hope everything's ok!

Take a deep breath and think about your baby...and try to enjoy the rest time. After all, how often in life are we made to rest?

(((HUGS))) That was my biggest fear with my second pregnancy--that I would need to be on bed rest. I'm guessing it's full bed rest and not even modified? For how long? How far along are you?

I can imagine how terribly dull it must be to be stuck in bed. Do you at least have a laptop? You can download an e-Reader app to it (or maybe you have an eReader) and read books. Most libraries allow you to borrow eBooks and you can do it from home, you don't even have to go to the library, or there are lots of free ones available too.

Just keep thinking of your darling baby and how much that sweet thing needs to stay in the oven for as long as possible, because every day counts. Take it one day at a time.

Take it easy and try to keep yourself busy (easier said than done, I know)! Your first obligation is to yourself and your baby

When I was on bed rest with my last pregnancy I took up knitting - I watched a bunch of you tube videos and taught myself. Thank goodness for modern technology! (I did play some video games too on my dh's Xbox ).

I had the exact same thing. But I didn't listen, because the person I had come stay with us to help with my kids, wasn't exactly doing much. So I would get up and make kids lunches, clean up, do dishes, etc. And I even threw a birthday party for my youngest at the time.
the next day I was rushed into hospital, and had an emerg. c section almost 2 months early.

I know it's tough, but it's even harder when you have to go back and forth to the hospital daily for a week because you can't bring your baby home yet. Trust me, just stay in bed.

Just think of it as a mini vacation. All I want to do now, 4 yrs later, is just stay in bed all day and not do anything. .

With my last pregnancy I ended up on bed rest for 17 weeks due to bleeding. I was in the hospital In and out 3 times and had to stay once for 3 days and get 2 blood transfusions. I couldn't do any daycare....but it was all worth it because I have a healthy beautiful nine month old. Hang in there it is so worth it.

Thanks everyone, you are all right it is wOrth it to ensure a healthy babe!

Camil, do they know the cause of your bleeding?

When I had U/S nothing is showing up why I am bleeding... They say though sometimes placenta abrupt ions don't show up via US

DeHmom, I couldn't agree more I would hate to deliver early and have to leave my little one in Hospital. That must have been so hard. I will truly take your advice.
Silver, I am almost 20 weeks ... I have a follow up appointment this Wed and they should be able to tell me more info. I have stopped gushing bright red blood and now am just spotting brownish - which is good! So who knows.
Right now I am on complete bed rest

I had ultrasounds too, and they found it hard to locate the cause of the bleeding. I had placental abruption at the end, but placental previa the whole pregnancy. I had a large blood clot that sat right on my cervix, and at the end that's what they figured was the culprit.

I'm sorry this is happening to you Ordered bed rest isn't the same as relaxing when you want to on the weekend. It's just something you gotta do for your baby Maybe keep the mantra "LET IT GO" in your head will help. If the kids are safe and fed then that's all you can do!!

                        Hang in there momma

I had bleeding from 7 weeks until 27weeks on and off...the doctors told me all different reasons placenta privia blood clots bleeding from a week spot in the placenta. I went from spotting to super heavy bleeding with huge clots though out all those weeks. A few times I thought I miscarried...I am still not sure what it was from. I did go on to have a normal delivery complication free at term thank god I was so worried about delivering early...But bedrest is so stressful lots of books computer and anything to keep yourself busy...God bless you and your baby.

Thanks for all the support ladies. It really is appreciated.
As for me I am doing okay. I am off complete bed rest and just on strict orders to take it easy, which of course I am doing and is way better than in bed all day.

I go see a high risk OBGYN on Feb 16th and hopefully things are still okay.

I am sadly still bleeding and cramping and my doctor increased my progesterone so I am on more injections - it has been tough these past few weeks I feel like I am stricken with paranoia at every cramp, sight of blood or twinge - I guess because it is so different than with my 1st I just don't get it.

However, baby BOY is doing well. I bought a Doppler to ease my mind and listen for the heart beat like its my job.

I will remain on my throne as the Queen of the castle - with my house full of boys
