I Really Hate To Do This To You..........

Drop in DCM text: Can I bring my boys on tuesday instead of monday? I messed up my appointment day.

Me: Sorry I am full that day as there is no school and I have all the kids including my own.

Drop in DCM has not answered me back yet.

    Me: Not my problem right?

Why do they always do this? It drives me nuts.

    Nope NOT your problem.

IMOP, parents do forget things...we all do, it is human nature.

But to expect others to rearrange life due to their forgetfulness is a bit much.

You did the right thing. The best outcome now will be this mom will be more aware of her appt times and the need to remember them as a responsible adult would do.

On the "no school" days, I always get a parent who wants to bring all the older siblings too. How do they assume I have room for three extras?

I had a former client NOT LOOK FOR NEW CHILDCARE until 2 days before their mat leave was up because they thought I would magically "work it out" despite telling them from the day they started mat leave (10 months prior) that I COULD NOT take their children back until September 2012. *sigh*

I get that too. I just had to tell two current families that when their children leave in Sept to go to school they can't come back for vacations and summer. They all just assumed I would take their kids even though they know I'm replacing them with new little ones. Perhaps they all have trouble with adding. New kids+old kids+school kids+my kids=crazy DCP.

              That's right; not your problem.

She probably just thought, "Nothing ventured, nothing gained" so she asked if you could accommodate her request for a change in schedule. Like Ariana said, she's probably busy trying to round up alternate care and may not have had time to thank you for your reply yet. Either way, not your problem.
