Nothing Like Being Open For ONE Child!

Not really worth my time today, but what are you going to do. My daughter is home too, and I am putting her in "charge" of keeping our little dcg occupied so I can get book work caught up. Sure would have liked to have slept in. Of course my ONE child is here from open to close. Oh well, could be much much worse! Happy MLK day!

Enjoy the break! After the last few weeks you have had, I am sure you deserve it! Unless, the one kid you have is the screaming crying baby.....

Nope! She is a dream baby! She is sweet, eats and sleeps well. Is happily playing babies with my daughter right now. Going to be a GREAT day!

I've only got two kids today...which in a way is good because I have a stinking cold

However, I should have remembered that I am supposed to tend the parents too and not rely on them to actually TELL me if they aren't going to be here today. Nobody said a word on Friday. I get to work at 5:30 AM this morning.

Nobody shows up until 8:30 AM!!!

As I called all the other parents I got one of two responses. Either "Oh...you're open today?" (It's only been on the wall calendar since last October and a notice on the door Friday saying we will be open today!)

Or....."Oh....sorry...I forgot to tell you I had the day off today"

I sometimes wonder who needs the most tending...the kids or the parents!

I started thinking that I was only going to have one today and that was great--I have a LOT of stuff I can get done with only one dck in tow. But then my family of two kids (3 and 5 mos) showed up, three hours late. Parents in sweats. I told them, "Oh! I had started to think that you weren't coming today!" and they said, "well, we told you we would be a little late..." okay, yeah, now I remember...but three hours? And you're clearly off? And you sent your kids to the grandparents last weekend then picked them up and immediately dropped them off at daycare last monday so you could have MORE time to yourselves? REALLY?!

              *sigh*
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

I have all teacher's kids so I am off today . Only bad part is that I don't charge for holidays so I am not making money either....but I am enjoying doing nothing today.

Of course the moment they leave, here comes the snow!

I am open for just 1 child also. Bad part is it's the longest slot (10 hr) I sooo did not want to get up at 6:30 today!

Being he is SA and my son is SA they zipped right through my toddler lesson plans and craft time even lunch. I am searching for things to do. Right now I have them on a word search on MLK I just printed out. That should buy me a few minutes to record my MM and check mail. This has been the longest day and it's a Monday too!

Hope everyone else is having a good day.
