    Question On Diapering Stations

So right now I have a play room with an attached bathroom in which I have a diapering area as well.

When the inspector came to look at my home 6 months ago at the licensing visit, she never mentioned where I am supposed to have my diapering area.

Is it permissible to have the diapering area in the bathroom or does it have be in the play area?

My guess it that it would depend on your "Active Supervision" policies.

Are you allowed to be out of view of the kids during the day?

If so, it is most likely not an issue, IMHO.
    - Unless otherwise stated, all my posts are personal opinion and worth what you paid for them.

Mine is in the day care bathroom. In fact my husband built a table that is over the top of the bathtub! We don't live at our day care and the bathtub is not used so we put the space to good use. Then we used CD storage shelves around the sink area for storing diapers.

Depending on your state, it may have to be within x feet of a handwashing sink.

Mine is in the bathroom. But because of supervision regs (they must be within sight at all times) we all must go in there together. We have some pretty fun potty parties while we're in there! LOL ::

For any of you in Cali do you know of any specific rules on this issue?

I'm in CA. There's nothing in the small home daycare regs about this and my inspector didn't say anything about the fact that my changing table is in a bedroom right off the playroom. I wouldn't worry about it if the inspector didn't say anything but if you really want to know, why not just email your licensing person?

A long as its not in the kitchen or near an eating area. Next to the kids snack table or in your dining area is not a good idea. This is what I learned at my Health and Safety Training.

In your bathroom should be fine. If your licensor had a problem they would have said something at your last visit.

I hate California daycare regs. they are so vague in all their rules.
