Magnatiles. They are pricey, but if I could only keep one toy the magnatiles would make the cut

Thanks! Can you give me a better idea of exactly which ones you are referring to, Amazon has a few different sets. Thanks!

            Popular toys here...

            - Classic wood blocks
            - Stacking buckets (http://www.amazon.com/I-Play-G02082-...6296915&sr=8-1)
            - Baby Dolls (might want matching if you have multiple girls)
            - Trains with tracks
            - Floor Puzzles (many little puzzles aren't challenging enough for them)
            - Tools (used for SO many things!)
            - Kitchen with DURABLE washable food (I went to constructive playthings for the food, Doesn't crush & very washable!)
            - Tent, house or hiding area brought out for special times... they have had sales on big cardboard boxes (10 or 15 bucks) that fold into houses or rockets at Walgreens or CVS by us... They aren't super sturdy (not a forever toy), but good for at least a month or so of hard durable imaginative play. AND they can be colored on... graffiti for 2 yr olds is fun =)

              Kitchen...

I have a Step 2 lifestyle and it works really well, I was lucky to have this donated to me... The only thing that REALLY bugs me, is the removable burner. The kids find it fun to remove and toss around, it also becomes a fight to replace it and has caused a couple of lightly smashed fingers... other than that, I can't complain!

I'll echo the vote for magnatiles. They are the single most played with toy in my daycare. They are played with every single day from the one year olds up to kindergarten age and repeatedly fought over.

I wish I had 3 more 100 piece sets. Now isn't a good time to buy, though, the plant where they're produced at had flooding last fall and production won't be back for awhile, probably April of this year. The price is jacked up right now at Amazon and ebay. Even when there's not a shortage, they're expensive, about 120 bucks for 100 tiles. But it isn't so bad when you figure out how many years you expect to use them in your daycare and the amount of play value they have.

                  I have 3 of these: http://www.discountschoolsupply.com/...?Product=27394

I bought them when they were having a 25% off sale. DSS has some petty good coupon codes, you can sign up for their emails.

                  Kitchen: I have
Step2 manufactures & sells indoor and outdoor kid's toys, play kitchens, playhouses, wagons, swing sets, home & garden products, & more!

Pros: It is big enough for several children

Cons: They tend to use it as a jungle gym

I assume they are plastic? They look like they have sharp corners, I don't know that I would trust my 2 year olds with them but I might have to keep an eye open for a sale for my 3 year old.

I have an IKEA play kitchen and all the play pots and pans and it's awesome. I would have preferred a KidKraft retro one but too pricey.

My kids LOVE the Schleic animals we have. They range in price from $5-$10 per animal so it took me a few months to build up my supply. They have played with them every single day for the past year!! The horses are especially popular so I have all of them.

Yes they are hard plastic. The corners are rounded ever so slightly. I trust them with 18mos+. We have had them a year with no wear and tear and they get used by 8-12 kids a day!

Do you think the Ikea kitchen is pretty sturdy? I can't really tell from the pictures online. My kids really love our play kitchen and it definitely needs to be replaced because it is on it's last leg.

Do have the full-size one or the mini-kitchen?

I watch one 1 1/2 and two 2 year olds. They mostly play with:

Little Tykes kitchen and plastic food/dishes
                              Little Tykes shopping cart
                              Baby dolls
Trains (usually without the tracks...they like to carry them around)
Legos (ones for younger kids, not the tiny ones)
                              Cars
Little People and Little People vehicles

But, the thing they love to do the most is empty the book shelves and look at and read books.
