    licensing exemption in texas

Does anyone know where I can find info on licensing exemption in Texas? Trying to see how many days/hours max I can do without a license.

I can tell you a bit about it and will give a link.

To care for unrelated children you have to deal with the state. There are 3 different levels for home care.
    1. Listed home--this is what I do. You pay a $20 annual fee and have a background check for everyone in the home over 18. You can care for 3 unrelated children. There are no inspections or regulations unless someone files a complaint. I take that back, you have to keep records on medications given to the kids now.

    2. Registered--you can keep up to 6 kids. You have to meet all of their standards and be inspected. The benefit is that you can join the food program if you are registered or licensed.

    3. Licensed--you can have up to 12 kids.

Here is a link to the definitions. http://www.dfps.state.tx.us/Child_Ca..._texas.asp#Q23

Just look around that site for more info. As far as I can tell, there are no waivers allowed.
