Times Are Getting Hard...PPL Are Arguing On Craigslist!

Every now & then people respond to ludicrous CHILDCARE NEEDED ads on Craigslist. I agree that some of the ads are crazy but I'm not sure that I would post a response. Here is the latest response to someone who would like 20 hours of childcare for TWO CHILDREN at $50 per week......

really you are WILLING to pay $50 a week for someone to care for your 2 children 20 hours a week???? $2.50 an hour to take care of 2 children. I have never heard of such a thing. What kind of care do you expect to get for your children? What kind of person would work for 20 hours and ACCEPT pay of $50. That is not even minimum wadge, A person could make more WORKING at McDonalds. Seriously. GOOD LUCK!

Times are getting so tough......on BOTH sides of the coin!!!

its not that times are tough, people are gauging each other. Its a war with trying to get clients, its happening here too. Except we get alot of 20 yr olds who are putting up ads (its not that I don't trust them or don't think they can do their jobs, its the way the ads are being written up, like they are pimping themselves) Like dh says, "you get what you pay for"

The grammar, punctuation and whole flow of this ad IMO is terrible. When I made my ad I triple checked everything and made it very professional. It is not that hard to make proper sentences with a capital letter at the beginning. I would like my children to learn properly and would expect a daycare to advertise using proper sentences & grammar. The ads on CL here are just as bad, and there are always ads that put other's down. I used Care.com and gained one FT child from there and the other 8 families I worked with were from my Craig's List ad. ::

I know, crazy isn't it? I use care.com too but haven't gotten any kiddos from there except for an occassional drop in. I have gotten the others from CL and one referral from a friend.
