    Sorry-frustration level high today...

Does anyone know of some plates that really stick? THe ones I bought at Walmart dont. THey just pull them off and throw them on the floor.

Are they sitting at the table, or still in highchairs or boosters with trays? If they still have a tray I would just them their food in that for now and try plates again in a few weeks and so on.

I would just give them regular plates, because the sticky plates are just a challenge... it screams "Heh....just TRY to get me off ****er!" and kids just can't pass that up.

From your subject line, I thought you had found plates that really stick. Darn. Munchkins from Target don't work either. It took longer for me to stick it down than it took the 8 month old to flip it in the floor. I just put their food on the high chair tray and anything liquid (like yogurt) I hold the cup and let them steer the spoon to their mouth.

We all sit together family style. At home, the parents take turns eating dinner, and the 3 & 4yo sibs still have trouble sitting still, eating with utensils, etc. I have had the twins 8 months now, and the older ones have been here 6 months. The older ones do ok most days, although occasionally, they still get excused early from the table for messing around.

I have tried regular plates, even heavier stonewear ones, and they have still ended up on the floor (my once beautiful Hickory hardwood floor, I might add). I pretty much have to sit there and watch them every second. If I am distracted by anything...bamm!

I have also excused the younger ones "when you play with your food (or plate), it shows me you are done eating". But often, I am not quick enough because there are 5 children at the table, and in theory, I am trying to "enjoy" a meal with them. I can also take their plate away if they are messing with it, but then, what about the food in their hand? Do I rip it out of their hand.......
