    Sanitizers

I ran out of bleach and with sniffly kids this week, that isn't a good thing. My husband has something he got at Sam's called Proforce Sanitizer. It's for use on food contact surfaces and lists schools and day care centers. It's a rinse for 60 seconds and air dry technique. It says it kills campylobacter, E coli, salmonella, shigella, staph and Listeria. It says nothing about cold and flu.

Do you think I could use this on the toys for a few days so that I don't have to haul myself to the store? I have a rare child free day and planned to spend it cleaning, cleaning, cleaning in the play room.

It would depend on your regs. I am legally unlicensed so I don't need to use bleach and never do. I use soap and water 99% of the time. I also use vinegar a lot.

I'm listed, which is like legally unlicensed. I'm just worried about whether I can beat back those respiratory germs. I had forgotten about vinegar. I wonder if it would kill flu germs.

The proforce stuff will work but it's not reccommeded on toys because it leaves a residue that CAN harm the kids but it would take A LOT of mouthing of the toys before that would happen. I would use it for now but go back to bleach solution after since it doesn't leave a residue. At least that's what resource and referral says.

Thanks heyhun. Even though it said it was safe for dishes, etc, it made me nervous, and since I was concerned about cold/flu, I made the trip to the store and bought bleach. I feel better that way.
