Favorite Board Games For The 3-5 Crowd

We got Zingo for Christmas and the dcks LOVE it!!

We have Candyland and Chutes and Ladders but the kids don't really like those as much.

What are your favorite games for the 3 - 5 crowd and how do you store them?

I'd love to scan CL for a few more games as I have a big group of 5 years old that are more and more interested in them.

Mine are crazy for Picture Bingo and Hi-Ho Cherry-O right now. They also really like the Memory games. I keep mine games in a large basket on a shelf within their reach and the kids can take them out/put them away on their own.

My dckids love Button Bingo, Barnyard Checkers (preschool version of Connect Four), Let's Go Fishing, CandyLand, Memory, Cootie, Don't Spill the Beans, Ant's in the Pants and HiHoCherry-O. We play a game together almost everyday after quiet time and before snack.

I keep the games on a shelf in the playroom, but they have to ask to have them down and play at the dining table if an adult or older child isn't playing with them. It keeps the pieces from getting lost

I just bought Connect Four for my 4/5's. They have been into Sorry and Trouble lately also.

I guess we play a lot of games here. I think it's a fun way to teach patience, taking turns, sportsmanship, etc. Even if they aren't playing they are generally watching, so it makes for a pretty quiet activity

I had to get rid of Hi Ho Cherry O because of those little cherries. Those stinkers were getting everywhere!

For storage do you keep them in their original containers or transfer to ziplock bags or something similar?

I keep the games in their original boxes but I do put the peices in zip lock bags. That helps if the box gets old or worn or if anyone is a dumper and I am not quick enough to catch them.

The games such as the Memory game and others that don't actually have a playing board are kept in big freezer size zip locks.
