I agee that it is a respect issue but I disagree that it isn't about the money. For me, this is my job. It is how I pay my bills.

IT HAS EVERYTHING TO DO WITH MONEY.

If you owe it, you need to pay it. I don't care of it is $1 or $100. It is owed and needs to be paid WITHOUT excuses.
Oh I know it's about the money too that's why I said it's not JUST about the money. Some people miss that it is about commone respect too that's why I said that.

I don't know if laws in TX have changed but when you were on subsidy, you could not charge ANY kind of late fees IE. late payments, late pick up etc. At my former center we had this one mother who was "looking for work". She would drop off her baby at 11:00 a.m. and pick up at 6:00 if not later. Of course half the time she looked like she just woke up. She owed $5.00 per month.

One day she picked up her son (early for a change!) and I was talking to the director/owner and she just whizzed by saying oh I can't pay you this week. I will pay you next week. Have a great weekend! We both were like

Finally the director/owner, who has a soft spot for sob stories, had enough. She said actually quite nasty (:, you cant pay $5?!? The mother said no sorry! See you later! And kept on walking. The director/owner said well, if you don't have the $5 by closing tonight, there will be a $25.00 late fee per day, including weekends and if you don't have the $55.00 by Monday morning, then I will be on the phone with CCDS to terminate your care for the lack of payment. She was STUNNED. Apparently she didn't know the rules about not charging for late payments ::

Needless to say, she went out to her car and miraculously found $5.00!
Same exact issues here we couldnt charge any fees until recently. They need that $5 for "smokes and starbucks" I was once told. What a kick in the face!

I just don't get who these people are!! Do they do this with every service? Likely not. Imagine going into the grocery store and loading up your cart and whizzing by the cashier saying "sorry can't pay today...see ya"!! It's a tad bit ridiculous.

I feel really bad but this is where you need to practice acquiring your backbone. She has no respect for you so why is she bothering you so much kwim? Give her the termination papers asap and don't think twice.

I didn't take state pay at that time so I'm glad they've changed it. However we can't charge them the difference in tuition which I wish they would change that too...for instance if I charge $115 per week and they pay me $110 I can't charge the parents the other $5 each week. We must accept what they pay.
That's good they changed it. Did they also change that you couldn't charge for field trips?

I'm sure this family will be getting terminated in the next month or so since mom can't seem to keep her rude comments to her self or pay me on time. She is challenging me at every turn and I was really hoping I could just talk to her and get her to understand she needs to follow my rules or go some where else. I am not an unreasonable person, I like to help but I don't like getting walked all over. I can't stand the cry of poverty when ever they have to pay for something and aren't just handed it, yet they can go to bars, smoke around their kids, cover their houses in christmas lights and jack up their electric bill but when they are expected to pay for the most important things in their lives their children its unheard of and a pain. Priorities are so screwed up this day and age and I'm tired of it and I'm only 26. If you don't want to pay for them don't have them. Sorry if I come off harsh but I have dealt with a lot these last few weeks and am living pay check to pay check and don't get assistance and these people that get everything paid for are rubbing me the wrong way.

I just noticed your green flower and thought that looks familiar, what is that...

              Ohhh ICQ!

They still have that? I haven't used that since like 2001 or something. Is it really connected through Daycare.com now?

There are several that you can choose from in your USER CP account. AOL, Yahoo etc. Take a look.

Anyone remember CU-See-Me? It was one of the first video over IP back in the 90s. http://commtechlab.msu.edu/sites/let...b9/b9u3l2.html
