I have a parent of a 2 1/2 year old boy who has been potty training this past week while she is off work (she is a teacher). She has informed me that her son has done well this week (today is day 5 of training) and she has him in underwear. She puts him on the toilet every 30 to 45 minutes and he has had 3 accidents since he has been in underwear. She wants me to continue this at my home when he comes back this week. I have 4 other small children for whom I provide care who also need my attention. I feel that he may not be ready if she has to put him on the toilet so often. If he argues with me about going, she wants me to physically pick him up and put him on the toilet. She feels that if I don't do this, all of their work with him this past week will be ruined. Help!

First off do you have a potty training policy? If not, now is the time to write one.
I would recommend that you read up on our Nannyde Blog here on Daycare.com about potty training. It is the best I have ever read. It has helped me and I know many many others.
Go to the home page and click on Nannyde the Daycare Whisper.- Flag

I feel your pain!! I am in a moms group and all of our kids are 2.5 so the potty train has left the station. I'm not on that train however and will not be PT until closer to 3 and when my child is actually ready. Taking her to the toilet 50X a day is not my idea of ready
Unfortunately unless you already have a policy it might be hard to not comply. I would tell her that you're willing to try it but with 4 other kids you may not be able to devote the 1:1 attention he needs.
daycare where exactly is Nannyde blog on PTing? I just went through her blog but can't seem to find it!?? Thanks
