    It's All About To Change

I've spent all week working on a handbook-my first one. Because every single one of my parents works odd hours, we are all sort of flying by the seat of our pants. I've been working really hard to try to cover all of the issues related to each individual case-doing a pretty good job of it if I say so myself.

In the last 24 hours, all 3 parents have announced that they are looking for new jobs. sigh I'm going to go ahead and give out the handbooks and add a note that it is subject to change as the situation changes. Add all this to the mom with the new baby, and it's going to be an interesting couple of months.

good for you... Just remember to stand your ground.

I bet it feels great to be done with it. I know I felt great when I was done with mine.

Remember, handbook and contract are not the same. A handbook has general information for everyone to follow, a contract is the legal information you both agree to, and can be individualized for each family. That way, it can be changed as your agreement changes without changing the whole shebang. Have a line in there where they acknowledge that they have received the handbook dated__________.

I do realize that. But, for example, I can't put in anything about late pick up because one mom doesn't know at drop off what time she will get off--it could be 2 hours, it could be 11 hours. I'm doing a lot about waivers too. I have my limit, and in a couple of months, I'll be over limit and have to let someone go. I don't anticipate a new family for a long time, so I'll waive deposits, etc. Serves me right though. If I'd done my homework and looked for a forum, I would have done all of this before I got any kids!
