    yay for you, Sabre!

My son is 19 now, and doing very well. He had very poor muscle tone, both gross & fine, as a child. He was in PT & OT for any years. He's in the army now, and doing very well. One would never know he ever had an issue!

Good job, Sabre. I hope your DC kiddo gets the help he needs!!

I have a child who I suspect also has low muscle tone. I would very much like to approach mom and dad about it to begin early intervention if he indeed does have this condition. However, both mom and dad are very clearly in denial about how delayed this 15 month old is and often lie to me to convince me that this child is right where he should be. The reality is, however, I spend over 40 hours a week with this child and there is absolutely no evidence that he is doing any of the things mom and dad say he are doing at home. Also, mom's stories often conflict dad's stories, etc.

I had mentioned in the past that I am concerned about his lack of mobility, his posture and his apparent inability to preform tasks that most, if not all, children his age should be working at and mom burst into tears.

Something isn't right. I don't know exactly what it is... but he's not developing and progressing the way he 'should' be. I am quite certain that if they are lying to me, they are also not being truthful with their ped. I'm not sure who they think they are kidding... but the only person they are hurting is their son by not acknowledging there could be an issue - one which could possibly be helped or even corrected with help from the right people!
