Who's Closed Jan. 2nd?

I am closed since New Year's Day is on Sunday. I am amazed, the schools here are open that day! I am still taking it off.

Im closed. i get 20 days paid from the state for a few of my kids and if i dont close, i lose money. its a holiday anyway so they shold have off. BONUS: MY kids have school, so I am dropping them off at 8:15 and not coming home til 2:55!happyfacehappyfacehappyface

Everyone is okay with us closing Dec. 26th, but my sister-in-law of all people doesn't like that we're closed Jan. 2nd. She even posted it on FB and everyone knows I'm her daycare provider! I told her we are closed because I'm offering overnight care for New Year's Eve from 7pm-10am which will take up most of my weekend. I couldn't believe she posted that! And she even told me ahead of time, "Don't get mad at my FB status. Nothing against you, just what I would put if you wasn't my daycare." Well too bad I am, PLUS I'm your sister-in-law.

Sorry, needed to get that out or else I'd hold it in during Christmas on Sunday, even though I'm still not going to be happy when I see her.

The following holidays are celebrated across Canada and appear with their 2011 and 2012 dates.

New Year's Day - Sunday, Jan. 1, 2011 (because in 2011, this holiday falls on a Sunday, some employees may get Monday, Jan. 2 off) / Sunday, Jan , 2012

It's a stat for those who have week-ends off. If you work sun-sat shifts the Jan 1st itself would be the stat.
I take all stats off! I don't get paid double time and a half, or whatever, so it's not worth it for me to work. If a parent truly has to work, they can hire someone else with the extra cash they are making

I didn't know what to vote for. Technically I'm open, but one family is off that day (vacation) and the other family will only be here w&f that week. soooo, I still get a 3day weekend! woot!
