    Rent a Santa

How many of you hire a Santa to come in the daycare for the kids? Or have a friend, family member, co-worker etc dress up for the kids.

No Santa's here. One of my kids is terrified of him. It took her nearly a week to walk past the plywood Santa in the front yard. We took her to have her picture taken with Santa last week, and it didn't happen. She clung to me, started to cry, and I told them to forget it. I wasn't going to force her to do something that scared her. Her mom was disappointed, and I was too, but I couldn't do it.

Ok so 5 years running....Santa's are the most unreliable for hires around. Every year that I have tried to rent a Santa they either canceled the night before, the morning of, or never even bothered to call me to tell me they were not coming.

So I went out and bout a Santa Suit at Party City and we have it on back up. I was lucky enough to have my husbands co-worker do it for me when the others have flaked, but he basically just gets the job done by looking the part. He's a big jolly fat man that has no social "Santa" Skills.... meaning he does not really talk to the kids about what they want for Christmas, have you been good this year, you know the common Santa questions..

So this year NO santa just cant deal with the let down.....AND my husbands co-worker had to go and lose 50lbs....

Pillows!! I once had a second job as a Santa for Polaroid. I weighted 104 pounds and had a quiet, female voice. Try explaining that to the little ones.

Lots of puzzled looks on the polaroid pictures that year.

I'm lucky. My friends that are providers have to pay $90 to get him to there house but my neighbor has a Santa costume & a Easter bunny costume and he is kind enough to come to my house for free. I'm trying to think of something nice that I can do for him in return. Maybe a nice card from the daycare kids and cookies?
