Ive been researching odd, and i am starting to think my problem child has odd. To start he was kicked out of a daycare already, and i wouold kick him out here but i need the money. My question is should i bring this up to the parents? I repeatedly ask him not to do the same things every single day about 30 or more times a day. I feel like half the time he aint listening but it is driving me insane....My rules have not changed in the 1 1/2 yrs hes been here he is almost 5 why does he not listen???

My daughter has ODD. She wasn't diagnosed with it until she was 7. She kicked the pregnant nanny in the belly because she didn't get her way. After a 4 day stay at the hospital, they found it to be ODD.
I have problems with her day in and day out from the time she wakes up until the time she finally passes out. Somedays are better than others but usually it's hell!
She's been to 4 different doctors and none of them will prescribe her any kind of med. They all say she'll outgrow it by the time she's 18!- Flag

I guess i just dont know what to do. Im pregnant and he is stressing me out so bad. My mil keeps telling me to give him the boot cause its not worth the stress, But i need the money and this time of year i dont get any calls for kids. Im stressed everyday. I start the day like oh yes well start fresh maybe hell be good if i give him good attention, and by 8 everyday hes already doing something hes not supposed to. I dont have many rules 1. no running 2. no hitting 3.keep hands to your self, the last rule i had to make because of this child.. He gets in everyones face, He is super bossy. He will break toys purposly i mean look right at me and break a toy in half and then try saying it was an accident. He can be very mean, he will hit slap and pinch very hard. Im so lost... I need advice please!!!- Flag

I have a little guy like that, after I read your post I started wondering about my kiddo here too because his sister was diagnosed with that a few weeks/months ago. I gave notice to his mother Friday and she understood because he has been acting so bad at home too. I'm beginning to wonder if he has it as well.- Flag

Is this kind of stress worth the money to you and your unborn child?
I would let him go and move on.- Flag

I dont think it would be that bad if i had a little help from the parents in diciplining. But i guarantee when they pick him up he has no more rules... Thats because she dont pay attention to any of there kids, i also think it would be easy to handle if i could have atleast gotten the 5 good kids since i took the bad one that was kicked out. Its frustrating, i have to deal with there bad child while another provider that kicked him out gets to deal with all the good ones... If something doesnt change by the end of the week im giving him the boot, I cant handle him anymore, and being pregnant i shouldnt have to.- Flag

How can you be sure that this is even due to a disorder and not just bad parenting?
I have been thru two pregnancies while doing daycare. NOTHING is more important than your physical and mental health. You are putting yourself at risk because at a certain point, you won't be able to keep up with this wild child or worse, she/he is really going to hurt you. I would strongly suggest that you term. Even if it is a disorder, it is unlikely that you would see a huge improvement before your maternity leave. It takes time to find the right doctors and treatment plans. Are you willing to stick it out with this child even after you bring a newborn home? That sounds really risky.....- Flag

I agree with cheerfludom....it can quite possibly be a parenting issue. That's always the first thing to consider before labeling a child with any type of disorder....although it is usually the parent seeking a label for their poorly behaved child as an excuse for that poor behavior. ::
