No No No
So here's my answer when parents ask me to help a child.
The kindergarten teacher is not going to do this. The sooner the child get's the skill the better. I do not help them once they are in underwear. I also don't help them with getting clothing on/off so overalls and such are out when underwear are in.- Flag

I tell the parents that if he and they don't think he can wipe good enough, there is a product called Kandoo flushable wipes - basically a flushable baby wipe and they can purchase this special product for him to have at my house, but HE needs to wipe himself and I will not assist at that age!! This helps with the wiping, and more times than not they start making the child clean themselves cause these are quite spendy!! : ) Hope that helps!- Flag

I had a 4 yr. old wouldn't ever go poop here, only allowed her Mom and Grandma to wipe her, until about 3 weeks into daycare, and she pooped into her pants!!
The next time, she pooped in the potty and wanted me to help her, I gave her the TP and told her it was time she learned how to do this herself. She did after crying. I told her Mom, she was shocked, she was going to be starting Preschool that same yr. I told the Mom they wouldn't wipe her in preschool/school. I think the Mom was a little shocked by it. Now I have a 4 yr. old boy that doesn't wipe himself good either. His Mom actually brought him baby wipes for him to use. Yesterday he pooped in his pants, which I guess he does this at home as well. His sister says he stands in the corner and sometimes does it at home in his pants. I couldn't believe it at 4!!! I told him that was never going to happen again, he knows where to go- I had him clean himself up with his baby wipes- I can't believe it!!!- Flag

Do other daycare providers have it in their contracts regarding potty training, and not wearing pants, overalls, etc. with buttons and snaps? I have to place this in mine, but don't exactly know how to word it. Just small things like this, get very frustrating, I know preschools have this placed in their contracts-
Thanks!!
Have a great week!!!- Flag

Snaps and buttons don't bother me so much. I don't interfere too much with the pottying. I require the children to inform me when they need to go, and I will ask them if they are going to poop or pee. I have a majority of boys 7 out of 9. I remind them each to put the seat up to pee and pee into the toilet. Also when they any of them say they need to poop I will go in ahead of time and together before they take their pants down I will count out 4 or 5 squares of tp for them to wipe with. This prevents needing to plunge, snake and/or rip out my toilet to unclog it. Though I am a pro at tkaing the toilet off, removing stuck items, and replacing the wax ring.Give a little love to a child, and you get a great deal back.- Flag
