I guess some country's have different ways of showing appreciation!

BYU here in Utah have a fun singing group that bring the house down wherever they go. The audience is hollering and stamping their feet etc. by the end and then they get standing ovations. It's a fun show.

They went somewhere in the far east I believe and all they got was mild, quiet applause at the end of their show. The people almost seemed bored. They thought the audience didn't like it, but were told that lots of enthusiasm is considered rude and so applause is always quiet and polite!!! Not the American way!!!!
