    Spot On Leg

I have a daycare boy that has a spot on his leg. It looks just like ringworm. I called parents and they said they would take him to the dr. If it is ringworm I know it is contagious. Should I exclude him from care or just keep it covered?

    Thanks for your help!!

I have first hand knowledge of this. It will be treated with an anti-fungal (oral or topical), and keep it loosely covered (it needs to "breathe"), a light bandage and pant legs should keep it from spreading.

It could also be eczema, though. Doc will determine. 3 of my 4 sib dck's have eczema. Looks a lot like ringworm!

you wouldnt be able to exclude them because it takes a few weeks to clear. Keep it covered and hope the parents treat it EVERYDAY!

I'd keep him out pending DR visit, diagnosis and what the DR says to do about it.

I have one who also has ringworm right now. It's on his tush and he is in a diaper. He has an antifungal cream that they put on every morning and night. I don't exclude for this.
