Wow! Well, I Ought To Lose Some Weight I Guess!

My assistant and I decided that since moving the daycare to the basement, we needed to both wear pedometers to see how many steps we are taking during the work day, from 7 to 5:15. I had 12,212 steps and she had 11,009! That is a LOT of steps! Then we both go on to take care of our families for another 5 or more hours! Holy smokes! I bet I logged 15,000 to 16,000 steps! Crazy!

I wear a pedometer everyday and I average 12000 steps per work day. 16000 in the summer. It's nice knowing I'm getting all those steps in without actually exercising.

My daycare is in the basement too. I never thought about counting my steps. Hmm...I think I will, cause I must make a couple of hundred trips up and down.

I averaged around 6000 steps in about 4 hours one day before I got annoyed with the machine and took it off!! That was only half a day and we hadn't even gone outside yet....not to mention my day doesn't end until my daughter goes t bed at 8pm

You would be surprised how much walking you actually do in the house. Up and down stairs and all the back and forth, back and forth.

My daycare is in the basement, so it is about 100 trips up and down the stairs and then chasing after 11 kids during the day and my own 3 at night.
