    PAID Holidays for 2012

I am getting ready to give out my list of paid holidays for 2012. I usually follow the Federal holidays and have never had issues minus the occassional under the breath complaint here or there but never a question about paying and have never had someone try to drop off anyway. Additionally I take off 2 weeks (10 days) paid vacation/sick time.

What days are you taking off as PAID holidays for 2012?

my contracted holidays will be the same 9 days as always....

      New Year’s Eve
New Year’s Day (just taking Mon. for these two)
      Memorial Day
      Independence Day
      Labor Day
      Thanksgiving Day
      Day after Thanksgiving (Friday)

Just looked them all up and aside from New Years none will fall on the weekend for 2012 so only losing out on the one for New Years Eve for next year.

Same for me, plus the day after Christmas so I can get things boxed up.

I have 10 paid closed holidays each year. I already made up a sheet for 2012 since I'm just opening and want to have it ready soon anyways.

New Years Day (Monday January 2)
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (Monday January 16)
          Good Friday (Friday April 6)
          Memorial Day (Monday May 28)
4th of July (Wednesday July 4)
          Labor Day (Monday September 3)
Thanksgiving and the friday after (Thursday November 22-Friday November 23)
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (Monday December 24-Tuesday December 25)

Fourth of July will be interesting to work two days have a day off work two days have two days off. LOL.

                for 2012... let's see.

Memorial Day and that whole next week
Columbus Day (weird, I know, but it's a family thing this year; we have to travel to a family reunion)
                Thanksgiving and the day after
Christmas--the entire week of and until after New Years'.

Yes, this is terribly weird...it's going to be a weird year. I'm not taking the 4th of July off because it's on a Wednesday and I don't really care. I'm not taking Labor Day because I want to be able to take off later in the month. I'm not taking New Year's Day because it's on a Sunday.
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

OK so apparently I take ALOT of days off. Here is my list:

Monday January 2 New Years Observed
                  Monday January 16 MLK
                  Monday February 20 Washington’s Birthday
                  Monday May 28 Memorial Day
Wednesday July 4 Thursday July 5 Independence Day
                  Monday September 3 Labor Day
                  Monday October 8 Columbus Day
Thursday and Friday November 22-23 Thanksgiving
Monday and Tuesday December 24-25 Christmas

I typically also take off Veterans day but next year it falls on a Sunday. I've always taken July 5th off because I don't want my evening fireworks plans ruined on the 4th by kids coming early the next am.

I also have 10 paid vacation days. Hmm, wonder what my parents are going to say about this.
