    Standing My Ground

on late fees. Last day was Wednesday, as parents figured out their custody agreement to where they don't need daycare. The mom was getting assistance through the school, and I found out on Wednesday that they could not pay any of last month. I told her the total, which was over $300, and she flipped. She said she had no clue they weren't paying and that she can't pay me all of it until mid December.

Sorry, but I need to be paid this week. When I mentioned there would be a $60 late fee if not paid for 3 weeks, her temper grew. I just got a text that she would have it all today. Let's see if that happens.

Late fees make them borrow from someone other than you. Because when they are late, they are borrowing your paycheck without asking.

Her ex told me yesterday that she owes him well up in the thousands because she did this all the time with their last daycare. I feel bad that he got drug into it, because it's not his fault. He was always great with paying his half.

If I ever work with a divorced couple again, I'm requiring that FULL payment will be made from ONE parent, weekly. I'm done chasing 2 parents around to get one week's worth of pay.
