Note To Self: Write It Down

A couple of my kids are on schedules that vary from day to day. I have a nice handy calendar to keep track. When dcm left on Wednesday, she told me what time she would be here today. She hadn't gotten out of the driveway before I forgot if she said 6 or 6:30. sigh So, I had to get up at 5 am, just in case arrival is at 6. It's 5:59 and she isn't here, so I guess it's 6:30. And to compound it, this is the second time this week I forgot before I could reach the calendar. I'm going to miss that 30 minutes of sleep about 3 this afternoon!

I think I learned my lesson. On the other hand, I've done 2 loads of laundry and caught up with my emails.

I always have my cell in my pocket. If they tell me something I text it real fast, then save to drafts. I can look at it later and it's not getting lost.

I'm the same way. If I don't write it down immediately, it flies out of my head within minutes! I have a calendar in my kitchen and write schedule changes on it as the parent and I are speaking -- as long as I remember to!

I use the calendar and alarm functions on my smart phone. It rings at 10 minute intervals for reminders, so even if I forget to look at the calendar I'm reminded. Can't tell that I'm getting old, can you? ::

ALL my daycare parents are required to submit a written schedule to me so I can look back on the times they need because we all know how many things daycare providers juggle/manage as it is. I cannot function without written directions....LOL!!

I've been know to say, "Wait, stop talking! I need a pen! Where's the pen? "Ok. I'm ready. You can talk again." I'm soooo forgetful.

I also make them write any changes down!!! I tell them - it could be hours before I get inside to my calendar (mainly in the summer) and I'll forget expecially if 2 or 3 of you tell me a change. You can tell me now but I also need to have it in writing - Email or FB message is perfectly fine.
