I am in love with my new backbone!

I have a single DCD who has his 4yo and 2yo daughters in care. He is a very large pushover with them and babies them to the extreme. He baby talks to both of them, adds 'y' to most words (want your cuppy? I have to go to work-y, Put her feet-y on the floor, give me a huggy, blah, blah, blah).

As soon as I see on my camera that DCD pulls up each morning, it takes him around 15 minutes to get the girls out of the car, round them up from my front yard as they go screaming around, laughing their little heads off as DCD goes chasing them around, playing games and other annoying things. For the past couple weeks, DCD has started unloading the girls from the car, immediately bringing their jackets/gloves/hats and backpack in and hanging them up, before going BACK out and playing a game of chase for a few minutes. He, of course, leaves the door wide open and I'm not entirely sure he go the memo that we are moving into winter soon and it's under freezing temperatures in the mornings.

I finally had enough. The other kids would crowd around the door to see what the big deal was outside with all the laughing and screaming, and our daycare room would drop in temperature from him leaving the door open.

Monday morning at drop-off, DCD unloads and knocks on the door as the girls run through the huge piles of leaves in my front yard. I open the door and he's standing there laughing at the 2yo as she throws up leaves in the air and they land in her hair. I say "DCD, it's obvious the girls aren't ready to come in yet. Knock again when you round them up and we will try drop-off again" and I firmly shut the door.

Today? He unloads them from the car, has the 2yo tucked under his arm and has the 4yo by the hand. He knocks on the door, and the girls happily walk in.

    Problem solved. happyface

    For now.

You should as Daddy to hold a buckety while you vomity into it. I HATE baby talk.

Good for you! I don't have a huge problem with him playing with the kids outside as long as it doesn't affect anyone else. It sounds like you've solved that problem.

Yea!! The second time I would have met him at the door with the leaf rake and told him to please rake the leaves they scattered back into the piles I spent 2 hours making yesterday.
