I do not allow children in my kitchen. They learn from day one it is off limits.

I don't allow kids in the kitchen either. I sometimes have to remind the littles under 2 but otherwise they all do quite well not going in there and I don't even have a gate or anything. Until yesterday that is. I did have a 3yo go into the kitchen and open the fridge to take a juice box out of the fridge. I called to him as soon as he walked in and he ignored me and right on in and helped himself.

I only keep the juice boxes as part of my DD's school snack so she takes one every day to school and this DCB is never here early enough for him to see me pack her snack so he must have seen them when he opened the fridge. As soon as he saw it he wanted it and threw a huge fit when I took it from him. He tried 2 more times throughout the day, the last time being while I was distracted with his mom. She was so embarrssed. He's allowed to open the fridge at home apparently but she never though he'd try it here.

Maybe there was something in the air yesterday?
