    Daycare Equipment

    Hello All,

I'm glad I came across this message board, as it has a lot of useful information that I can gather. I was wondering if I can get some suggestions.

I'm writing on behalf of my mother in law, she is getting into the day care business with a partner. I was told it will be available for children who are on welfare/government assistance, so I'm assuming the government will be paying to house the kids at the daycare. They already have a location and are expected to open in the beginning of January.

My MIL sent me on a mission to find out where to get donations of toys, books, clothes, etc. As well as finding daycare equipment like cupboards, desks, chairs, etc. She wanted me to find slightly used items, or maybe an auction of some sort,as they are on somewhat of a budget.

All your comments are very much appreciated

Check out local thrift shops and your online Craigslist. You should make flyers about the low income daycare and hang up around town. This will get you more clients in the door and donations.

Don't forget about Freecycle. I'm sure there's one in your area.

You're kind of out of the Garage Sale weather now but they are great places to pick up things for little ones. Just disinfect them with some bleach spray and you're good to go!

Thank you all for the quick responses. I already checked out craigslist but didnt see anything of interest. I made an account on freecycle, so we will see how that goes.

          Thanks

Don't forget to check the FREE posting on CL. Thrift stores, garage sales, friends (and their friends) and relatives that have children or know of someone who does that may want to get rid of some toys.
