Ot... What Goes On A Save The Date Card?

My sister and I will be giving my parents a huge party for their 50th wedding anniversary. I am preparing a save the date card that will need to go out at the end of the week.

I have never done one before, so I am not too sure what to include on it.

I got a Save the Date card once for my friend's wedding. It had a cute picture of the two of them with Save the Date as the title. Then it had the date (obviously) and the place. If you know any more information at this time, like the time of day, I'd put it down. Any information that helps people plan is useful. Are you asking people to dress up or bring anything? If so, list that as well.

Just the date of the event. You don't have to put anything else on the card like the time or address as that will come later when you send the invitation. Just put something like "Save the date", their names, what you are celebrating and the date for them to reserve.

I was wondering if I should put the location, as it will be very far away for a lot of people and they will have to make travel arrangements.

We are having it here in the states and my family will all come from overseas....

In that case I would put the location. Maybe not a specific address (unless you know it?) but city, state, USA.

I have all of the info now, just don't want to send out invites for the event that is still 6 months away.

But it will be practice for when my daughter gets married... Oh the thought of that...scary
