I Don't Know Who To Feel More Sorry For....

...me or the poor kids who have to put up with me.

It's just been one of those weeks. Everything seems to be just off. I have been in such a down mood. Usually, I have a pretty positive view on things and lately it hasn't been happening. Even going to the gym last night to burn off some steam didn't help much.
The poor kids have been looking at me like I have finally gone off the deep end.
Have any of you experienced an emotional funk like this? What have you done to get out?

Is it getting cloudy out where you are? My DH has seasonal affective disorder (he's SAD, it's kinda ironic) and every fall/winter when the sun goes away, so does his good mood. It's a form of depression. He's on anti-depressants, but you can always take Vitamin B, get a sun lamp, exercise, eat right, etc. to help it. This is pretty common, so I'd look it up to see if this is what you're experiencing.

You know, today is very grey and it foggy today. I really think it's a combination of a lot of things, weather being one of them. I am at risk for SAD, having been diagnosed and treated for clinical depression many years ago.
We are planning on going up to the mountains on Friday, above the fog. That should help. Thank you for mentioning it. I didn't even consider that as a factor.

It's crazy how weather affects us so much! And yeah, if you've dealt with depression before, you know your body enough to figure out when something isn't right. Enjoy the mountains!

Maybe you should talk to your doctor. Honestly, it's not fair to the kids if you are suffering from depression and are not doing anything to cure it.

Children are effected by their environment and if you are always depressed, you are not giving them a healthy environment to be in.

Please don't take this the wrong way. Take care of yourself first so that you can take care of others.

I get what you are saying. I sought and received help many years ago. Believe me, I am NOWHERE near where I was back then.

This is just a funk due to hormonal issues, sleep deprivation, various disappointments, and apparently also the weather change. I was just looking for some more ideas to help me bounce back. The long weekend will afford me some time to take care of myself. Thank you for your concern.

Yep yesterday was awful and was also super cloudy and cold oitside. Today is sunny so im feeling better. May also have something to do with the fact that I have zero kids enrolled right now because my last famiky screwed me and I am having such a hard time finding clients this time of year. We are hurting for money! Went to the gym last night though and feel much better.
