i have a friend who is going to the tech here in town to be a daycare provider with an early education, and she told me that when a daycare provider says that they would like a phone call if you are going to be early then keep on looking...i thought this was ridiculous also this isnt the first time. She is always telling me the bad things her school says about at home providers with no degree.. Im just in shock just because you paid to go to school doesnt mean we arn't educated. i find it rude how they teach these providers.. anyone else hear this??

I see them arrive in my driveway camera... go get the kid... and answer the door with child and coat in hand. Quick dress and cya.....
I do one arrival... one departure... per parent... per child... per day so if I see them in the driveway then I KNOW they are goin home.
Early is good. I wish they would all come early every day. ::

I love it when they come early. I don't need a phone call.

Dont get me wrong i love it when they come early... I would like a phone call so i know whos coming and when. I would like to get there child ready so the process is smoother... My problem is i ask for a phone call and never get one so then i have parents showing up at all times of the day and none of these are set times. I myself find this rude. Whats the point of having a schedule if no one wants to follow it..?- Flag

I have to get them dressed in clean "go home" clothes, shoes and do hair first.
I pity anyone who tried to get one of these guys out the door during nap WITHOUT their snack. :::
:
They expect it on the table when they wake up....Oh, my little Drama Kings.

example: your hours of operation are 7am-6:00pm, however, you will only allow each family to use 9.5 hours of this time and the days and times must be set in stone.
8:25 to 5:30.. johnny
7:45-6:00 sara
9:00-6:00 billy
This way you will always know when they are coming, I charge a $1.00 per min fee for every min they drop off early or pick up late. Minus a 5 min grace period for both....
I would hope that if someone is going to come early that I would get a call.....no one wants to see my underwear....- Flag

I think she means pick up early without a phone call.
I don't mind parents doing that. And, when providers DO mind the parent doing so, it tends to make the parent suspicious. It's not rude, it's what they have been educated to do....drop in unnanounced occasionally to see how things look when the parent is not expected.- Flag

I read it (OP's other post about naptime interuptions) to imply CONSTANTLY and ongoing.- Unless otherwise stated, all my posts are personal opinion and worth what you paid for them.- Flag

It is so i can plan accordingly... I have a small daycare 4/5 kids at most so when everyone randomly shows up at 3 or 4 one day, i get a little irritated because i could have made plans. I find it inconsiderate and it happens constantly.. If theyre suspicious of me maybe they need to find a new daycare. It is stated in my contract:
youre being early or late:
Please let me know as soon as possible if you are bringing in or picking up your child earlier or later than set times. I cannot stress this enough. Let me know what is happening so that i may plan accordingly.
Thats kinda why i expect it...Guess im crazy to think these parents who signed my contract trust me...- Flag

I have it for the same reasons as well, i hate chaos... I also do it because I have a small entry way, and small drive way. If everyone showed up at the same time it would be a nightmare..
I purposely stagger it out so that I dont have two parents here at the same time fighting for space to park or stand, once inside my house.....- Flag
