Thanks to all of our Active Duty Military, Veterans, and their Families

I've noticed that we have quite a few active duty and veteran families on this board, and I wanted to take a moment to express my thanks for their service and for all of the sacrifices that all of these families make every day on behalf of all Americans.

My husband was active duty when we got married and we spent the first few years of our marriage overseas, so I know it is not always an easy thing to do.

    Happy Veterans Day!

I will echo those sentiments and extend it to all servicemen and women in Canada as well. Those who have passed and those who are still fighting.

I too wish to express my thanks to all who serve. As an adult who was raised in a military home, I want to thank the families for their service as well. For everyone who ever taped a deck of cards to the wall one card at a time,.... Hugs, love and appreciation.

Absolutely. Freedom is a very costly "privilege". We owe so much to those that have died to preserve it.

My thanks, as well! I know from many close friends that you sacrifice so much, whether you are in the military yourself, or are sending a loved one.

My son is a private in the Army, stationed at Fort Drum. He is training to be a sniper. This has been his dream since early in high school. I have mixed feelings about his job, but am incredibly proud of all his hard work. He is an awesome young man!

My daughter played taps today for her schools program. We have been practicing all week and she's watched a gazillion YouTube videos. She didnt know what the " right" way to play it was. I told her it was like the little drummer boy. His 'gift' was a drum. Hers is a trumpet. She played her gift for them today. So her gift, was to ALL veterans. Old, young, active, retired, living or passed. She played her gift of thanks to you today. In a school in central Indiana, an entire junior high was silent for 53 seconds ,.. Except for the sound of a horn, thanking a nation.
