Name your price Daycare....Craigs List Ad

This was an ad from my local city that I live in...I am ESL and she spells worse than I do..NOt to mention all the grammar errors... I'm sitting here still itching my head.

    Ad reads:

Looking for affordable childcare as well as character building? Then ABC's Childcare is for you! Not only do you not have to worry about your child while your at work, shopping or maybe even date night but we also work with your child

educationally. Your young ones are at that age where they are absorbing everything so why not bring them to a quiet yet social and active country home! Not looking forward to taking your child to public daycares because your worried about

your child getting sick and coming home with a runny nose and possibly a fever? Don't stress yourself out over it! Bring your child to a small secluded hygenic home. Tired of dropping your little one off clean and picking them up with dirty

faces and messy diapers? You and your child should not deal with that. Your child will leave here the way they came if not cleaner!

P.S. Also ask about our new name your price deal!!

Thank you from your loving friendly ABC's Childcare Family!!

Oh, I totally want to call on this and find out what she means by that.

I mean, the ad sounds good...I little worded wrong and spelling...but it sounds ok. I am just really curious as to what she means "Name Your Own Price Care". ::::

I see that lasting for a whole couple of months as a perk to get families in the door...but after that they'll get a surprise in..." I'm raising my rates".

Actually I know of a provider in my town that kinda does something like that. I was talking to the principle of the elementary school and asked how much she paid. She said there was really no set price! Wow, I thought. This lady has been doing childcare for years and people just absolutely love her program. She get alot of professional people too. I have a friend that uses her because I was totally full for childcare when she was looking and she went to this lady. Full-time for an infant was $400.00 and I let her know she is getting a great deal. My friend says besides me she is the best and feels great having her for her provider.
Each day is a fresh start
        Never look back on regrets
        Live life to the fullest
We only get one shot at this!!

I sent an email to the lady posting....

          1. she is not even legal. NO license. In CA you can not run a daycare without a license.

          2. She was charging $12.50 an hour, but because of today's economy she thought she would get more business offering a "name your price" program within reasonable rates that you would have to come to agreement to.

          3. Claims to offer a preschool program, but then told me that they offer a movie day with special snacks and social hour.

Holy cow moly.....whatever, someone will need this type of care

CCLD could make a fortune by fining people on CL that don't have a license.

I'd message her back saying "Honey, ummm....I am really looking for a lic. daycare as it's illegal to run a daycare unlic. in CA. Not trying to be a downer...but if you ever made one of your parents mad that will be the first thing they'll look into on you. It might make her think twice about running a unlic. daycare. Let her know the fees involved and penalties and that she'd have to shut down right away while giving all her families that depend on her notice.
