Why are princess dresses so darn flimsy? After about ten times of little chicks pulling them on and off, they're in shreds. Do they make any sturdier ones?

I only have one disney one and I've done major repairs on it. I much prefer the old flower girl dress that they use. It's much sturdier and very gaudy. They LOVE it. ::

Check some of the bridal stores for the flower girl dresses. Our local one sells them as low as $10.

I took some shorter dresses of mine that I no longer wear and gave them to the daycare. One particular white sundress works out perfectly for a "bride" dress. Lot more sturdy!

i dont have the actual disney ones do to the same reason you are looking for some... I have ones from the goodwill. Actual dressy dresses.

I find that the others are more like Halloween costumes and are only meant to be worn that one night.

Yeah that occurred to me as well. But the ones they sell as "dress up dress" in the toy aisle, that cost upwards of $20 a piece, are just as fragile.

I have a box full of large fabric scraps I've somehow collected over the years - shiny, glittery, velvety, lacy. Scarves and neckties and old shawls. The kids "play cloth" and dress each other up and come up with some fantastic outfits, and they can be whatever/whomever they choose when adorned with these things. They don't have to be one specific Disney character. They love it, and I enjoy seeing their creativity at work!
