How Do I Word 2 Week Notice Letter?

I have a family that started two weeks ago. They told me from the beginning it would be temporary, until they got into a local center. Today they said they "secured" a spot with a local center, and wanted to give their 2 week written notice as of today. So technically their last day would be the 11-16. But Mom said her last day would be the 30th, possibly sooner, they weren't exactly sure.

So how do I type up a term letter? I dont exactly know when her last day is. If I say the 16th, and then they need to stay later? What if I interview a new family, I dont know when to tell them they can start. Do I do a 2 week term letter for the 16th as the last day, and then just extend it a week at a time, or two weeks at a time?

I dont want to leave them with no care, and am happy to take the child until they can get into the center, but I also dont want to lose out to potential new clients that may need to start soon.

I would just have Mom give a written two week notice, I would not type up a term letter.

Tell her two weeks notice means 10 business days from the date of notice received, and then make her stick with it.

If she is not sure, then she will either HAVE to commit to a date now or not give notice and continue paying after she leaves for a bit to equal the 10 business days notice.
    - Unless otherwise stated, all my posts are personal opinion and worth what you paid for them.

I would just type up a final invoice for payment and write on it

final payment for xyz child from nov?- nov?

then type at the bottom of it type. All services will render on XYZ date.
